The Project Insights series showcases the Münchner Stadtmuseum’s ongoing research into migration in Munich past and present. This latest display presents its findings on how migrants have influenced the city’s culinary culture over the course of more than 100 years. Munich boasts a large selection of international restaurants, cafés and snack bars. This diverse assortment of food and restaurants from around the world has been and still is pioneered primarily by migrants, who bring all manner of different cuisines to Munich and finetune them to local tastes. These culinary establishments have always played a major role in forging a new style of urban living in Munich.
